Thank you for considering Starting the Next Chapter as a possible review source. I enjoy reading and book blogging and am honored by your consideration. Starting the Next Chapter is currently accepting review copies and is open to blog tours and interviews.
Please observe the following preferences and guidelines:
Preferences
I am a fairly eclectic reader, but do have my preferences. I DO Read:
- Paranormal fiction (primarily YA)
- Fantasy (primarily YA)
- Steampunk
- Dystopian (YA)
- Historical fiction (YA)
- Horror (YA)
- Westerns
- Erotica
- Nonfiction (including but not limited to: political works, autobiographies, and history)
- Series books unless I can read them from the beginning, and then only if they adhere to the aforementioned preferences (I can give you further details as to whether I have read the first book(s) or not.)
Please note that I am not currently accepting self-published titles, nor am I accepting PDF files due to formatting issues with my ereader. Please do not attach ebook files in your email.
Reviews
I will finish books to the best of my ability and will try to post reviews in a timely manner. I can promise an honest review and will do everything in my power to post constructive criticism. Along that vein, I will not guarantee a positive review. If I am unable to finish reading the book, I will not post a review, but will let you know why. I will post reviews as early as four (4) weeks prior to release. However, I most typically post reviews two (2) weeks prior. If you would like for a review to be posted at a specific time, please ask first to make sure I can accommodate you. I will not post reviews that contain spoilers. Henceforth, reviews will include:
- A photo of the cover
- Links to author website and publisher website
- Links to Amazon and Goodreads
- Date of publication
- A plot synopsis free of spoilers (usually from a third-party website, which I will credit)
- My observations about the book (likes and dislikes and the reasons behind them)
- A rating
Formats
I accept the following book formats:
- Bound copies
- ARCs/Galleys
- Netgalley eGalleys
- Edelweiss eGalleys
A FTC disclosure will henceforth be present in the sidebar of this blog informing readers that I received the copy free from the publisher or author and that no money has been or will be received in exchange for my reviews. Readers will also be informed that the book was received in exchange for an honest review.
About ARCs and Digital Galleys
I will not engage in the sale of ARCs in any way. ARCs will either be kept by me, gifted to another book blogger, or given to a blog reader via a giveaway after the date of publication (unless otherwise requested, of course). Digital galleys will be deleted upon completion. Reviews will be posted no earlier than four (4) weeks prior to the release of the book unless otherwise requested.

- Timeline (when the review should be posted)
