A Book to be Thankful For

In celebration of the up-coming release of her sophomore novel, A Million Suns, Beth Revis is showing her gratitude by giving away a staggering 19 books.  That's right: nineteen!  One-nine!  Dix-neuf!  Here is what Beth has to say on the matter:

I've got a lot to be thankful for--this year, the dream I've held dear for most of my life came true with the publication of my first novel. And in all honesty--it's been even better than I dreamed.

So this month, in honor of Thanksgiving and all that I've got to be thankful for, I want to thank you, the wonderful people who've been with me on this insanely glorious journey. And to do that, I've turned to some of the fantastic friends I've made along the way.

Isn't that awesome?  I had the pleasure of seeing Beth at the Nashville stop of Ash2Nash in August and can definitely tell you that she is a funny, funny lady.  I wish I had had the chance to chat with her, but it was a total zoo that night and, alas, I kept missing the chance to talk to her until it was too late.

So, what will be given away, exactly?  There's quite the list, so you may want to sit down with a nice beverage while you read it.

Now that I've filled you in on all of the details, I will commence telling you about the book I am most grateful for.  That book is Jane Eyre by Charlotte Bronte.  I have a particular favorite when it comes to editions, which is this one:

Every time I read this book, I am transported into the story.  I have wandered the moors with Jane, stared in horror in the red room, and evaded harm from a madwoman, all within the pages of this book.  The edition above, which is illustrated by Dame Darcy, just adds to the perfection that is Jane Eyre.  I have many favorites with regard to books, but this one will always have a special place in my heart.  It was there with me through a very hard time in my life and provided comfort to me in ways I had never before imagined a book could.  For that, I will be forever grateful.  I look forward to the day when I can present my daughter with a copy of her own to be read and (hopefully) enjoyed.
