Oh! Hello there! It's nice to meet you!

Hi! *waves* I guess it’s a good thing I’m not afraid of owls. So let me tell you a bit about how I got here. Way back when in January 2012 I googled “TN young adult bloggers,” this site, and Marla, popped up. I was a brand new little baby blogger who already was doing her first blog tour and I needed people to host days for me. The rest is history, but if you must know it kind of went like this:

Do blog tour together.

Start RutaFans together.

Become writing buddies/critique partners.

Become best friends.

Yup. That’s about it. Now what am I doing *here* as in this blog? What am I doing on Starting the Next Chapter? Well, while I am trying to continue to grow my own website, Marla had the fabulous idea to come over here for a bit, continue to learn the ropes, and be introduced to a new crowd. *cough*You guys.*cough*

So what am I like, you ask? Well, I like to think I’m nice. I don’t get into too much trouble, although I did get pulled over for speeding for the first time the other day and it did not go over well with me. LOL. I am quiet, so posting things online is an interesting way to interact with people. I LOVE Harry Potter and The Lord of the Rings. Fantasy is definitely my thing. I thought I would try out contemporary, but it just didn’t work for me. I love getting to be immersed in fantasy worlds. Worlds that are completely unknown, and sometimes there is even a new creature or two. Jodi Meadows's Incarnate trilogy, is one of my favorite new ones.
As far as what I am like as a person, I am a full time student, I work in retail, I write stories that I hope one day will turn into books. I am originally from Michigan and moved to Tennessee five years ago. I am an English major. I love international news. I read all the articles I can and, based on my current career choices, it’s really going to help in the future. I have an older sister who shares my love of reading and a younger brother who has probably only read one book series ever. (I am proud to say that I lent him those books! The Seventh Tower series by Garth Nix.)
